Description
1981, Indonesia. Once a former popular singer, the mother of four children fell ill a few years ago and is living out her last days. The family takes care of her, but it's getting harder to make ends meet — the record company says that records are no longer for sale, so there are no commissions, and the family sells everything they can. When a woman dies, immediately after the funeral, the father of the family sends to the city to negotiate the sale of the house, and the children left with their grandmother begin to see and hear ghosts. Soon, the eldest daughter learns something strange about her mother.

- Joko Anwar admitted in an interview that, having watched the film "Satan's Slave" as a child, he decided to become a director. After the debut feature film "Johnny's Promise", Anwar begged Rapi Films for many years to make a remake of "Satan's Slave" and take it as a director.
- Most of the time in preparation for filming was spent searching for a house with the right atmosphere for the authors of the film. The search took 4 months.
