Description

- The plot was based on the life story of director Peter Son with his parents after immigrating to the United States from Korea, when none of them knew a word of English, and the family settled in the Bronx. The Son family also opened a shop in the area called "Son Fruits and Vegetables" - like the Amber family in the cartoon.
- The cartoon took seven years to complete. There was work in the studio and "at a distance".
- Instead of traveling around the world to collect the necessary material, the filmmakers looked at YouTube footage made in Venice and Amsterdam.
