Description
1825. A Burmese woman, after losing her child at the hands of British soldiers, becomes a vengeful Black Spirit, but a powerful monk immediately seals her inside a stone coffin. Years later, during the war, a village elder releases the spirit to take revenge on the invaders — but it soon spirals out of control and begins attacking young women.
1976. Yee’s younger sister, Yak, mysteriously disappears after school. Rituals reveal to the family that the same Black Spirit has taken the girl into the cursed Bongshanodbiang forest. To save her, Yak and her loved ones embark on a dangerous journey into a place where no charm can protect them, and only the ringing of silver bells warns of approaching danger.
