Old car plates of Uzbekistan
Starting from 1998, Uzbekistan has adopted a new (valid from 1998 to January 1, 2013) system for coding license plates registered in Uzbekistan. According to this system, each region, together with its constituent cities (with the exception of Tashkent), received a digital code indicating that the registration of each car belongs to a particular region. The digital range is set from 10 - Tashkent to 23 - Karakalpakstan. Due to the fact that the number of rooms in Tashkent increased the capacity of the number, an additional number was allocated for Tashkent - 30.
Numbers of Uzbek cars consists of three parts:
- Region (city) code - from 10 to 23, 30
- A letter (or two) of the Latin alphabet from "A" to "Z"; - two letters mean that the car is registered to a legal entity
- Number itself - 4 digits
