So why is this decision so critical? Why can the choice of a university determine what we will dream about, who we will become and what our future will be?
It would seem that all roads are open, and it would be possible to calmly treat the choice of a university as the next round of the way after school. However, this choice is not just the next step, it is the transition to adulthood, which entails consequences that are tangible throughout later life.
This is the choice of what you will study for several years. It is a choice of what interests, passions and talents you will develop. It's a choice that can define your career and your view of the world.
But the most important thing is that choosing a university is choosing your values and priorities on the path of life. It's a choice between old and new friends, between a familiar environment and new challenges, between what you know and what you're just about to learn.
Each applicant faces this difficult and important choice and must answer these questions for himself. But one thing we know for sure: choosing a university is not just a choice of a place of study, it is a choice of a path that leads to the future.
In the article we will look at the main aspects of choosing a university, the admission process and give advice that will help applicants of Uzbekistan to succeed at this important stage of their lives.
Choosing a university
After the last day of school, the views of the majority of applicants are directed at numerous universities and colleges, each of which beckons with promises of top-class education and a bright future. But how to choose the perfect university? How not to get lost in the sea of possibilities and not make a mistake with the choice?
The first step in this matter should be self-knowledge. It is important to understand what you like, what causes a lively interest, where your heart pulls you. After all, you can only really get carried away with what really inspires. Answer the question: "What would I do with pleasure, even if I wasn't paid for it?". Understanding interests and passions will allow you to decide on the direction of training.
The second step is research. Study in detail the universities that offer training in the chosen direction and specialty. Compare admission quotas and passing scores over several years. Learn more about the teachers, the training program, practices and internships, the campus, living conditions and student life. Feedback from former students and graduates can be very helpful in this process.
The third step is evaluation. Compare universities according to various criteria: quality of education, reputation, availability of practice and internship, cost of tuition and accommodation, location, student life. Each person has their own criteria, so it is important to make a choice based on their priorities.
The fourth step is a visit. If possible, visit the universities you are considering. Take a look in the classroom, walk through the corridors, talk to students. This will help you feel the atmosphere and understand in which of them you can truly develop and thrive.
And finally, the fifth step is making a decision. After careful research and weighing all the pros and cons, it's time to make a decision. Remember that there is no perfect choice, there is only the best choice for you.
With the right approach and attentive attitude to the process, you will be able to find a university that will become your second home and open the doors to the world of knowledge and opportunities.

Choosing an educational institution
After registration, you will need to choose from a list of five universities to which you want to apply.
Important!
— You can choose directions only with the same entrance exams.
For example: You have chosen an economic direction in one university, where you need to take mathematics and English. In other universities, you will be able to choose only those areas where there are these subjects in the tests. For example, you will not be able to apply for a philological course where you need to take the Russian language and history.
— You need to choose in priority from the first.
For example: If you have successfully passed the tests and were able to get into all five or several universities, then you will enter the first one on the list that you selected on the website. Therefore, you should start with the most desirable.
When and where will the testing take place
In recent years, after the coronavirus pandemic, entrance tests were conducted in open areas (parks, stadiums), but this year it was decided to return to large-capacity buildings.
Information about the venue and time of the event will be known after the end of the receipt of documents. On the website my.uzbekmb.uz all the necessary information about the place and time of the exam will appear in the applicant's personal account. The applicant's list will also be available on the website, about it a little below.
How many tests need to be solved
To get the maximum score – 189, you will need to answer 90 questions correctly. So:
Mandatory block of items
Mathematics, native language (Russian, Uzbek, Karakalpak), history of Uzbekistan.
Each has 10 questions (30 in total). For each correct answer 1.1 points.
Profile subjects
In accordance with the direction, tests are conducted in two more subjects:
The first subject is 30 questions, for each correct answer 3.1 points,
The second subject is also 30, one correct answer is 2.1 points.
What you need to take with you to the exam
For the exam, you need to take only a passport (ID card), a handkerchief, money for the return trip (preferably in one bill) and an applicant's sheet
The applicant's list is a document that will be available in the personal account on the website my.uzbmb.uz. It contains all the necessary information about the applicant, the time and place of the exam and the QR code for admission to the test.
IMPORTANT! If you forget the applicant's sheet or passport, you will not be allowed to take the exam and will be able to take it again only after a year.
Everything else: a pen, a draft, water – will be given to you at the exam itself for free.
What should I do if I want to enroll in a private or foreign university?
Above, we have described the procedure for admission to Uzbek state universities, entrance exams to which are conducted by the unified State Testing Center (GTC/DTM). Its activities do not apply to private, foreign, as well as to branches of foreign higher educational institutions in Uzbekistan.
To enroll there, you need to contact the universities themselves directly to clarify the information you need. It is not necessary to delay this, because usually foreign universities finish admitting applicants earlier than state ones.
We wish you confidence in choosing your future, good luck in admission and firmness in the pursuit of knowledge. Let your way to university be the beginning of an exciting journey into the world of knowledge and new discoveries!
