OUR MISSION

The National Association of Accountants and Auditors of Uzbekistan (NABA Uz) is a public organization that unites certified accountants and auditors on a voluntary basis. The mission of NABA Uz is to assist in protecting the rights and promoting the interests of accountants and auditors by conducting educational programs and advanced training courses, providing consulting services, with the aim of achieving the status of members of the Association at the international level.

MAIN GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

• Development of the professions of accountants and auditors in the Republic of Uzbekistan and bringing their qualifications closer to international standards that meet the criteria for membership in the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC)
• Active participation in reforms in Uzbekistan.
• Participation in the development of regulatory documents in the field of accounting and auditing and submission of proposals for their improvement.
• Development of qualification requirements for accountants and auditors and conducting certification exams in accordance with IFAC requirements.
• Control over compliance with the Code of Professional Ethics of Auditors.
• Organization of regional, national and international seminars, conferences, symposia on the development of accounting and auditing.
• Assistance in providing methodological, advisory and informational assistance to accountants and auditors in order to ensure their professional protection.
• Establishing links and cooperation with international professional organizations of accountants and auditors in order to achieve international recognition.

CREATION AND DEVELOPMENT

The Association of Accountants of Uzbekistan officially began its activities on January 17, 1992, starting its journey with a republican conference, at which the Charter of the Association was approved, the executive committee and the audit commission were elected. By that time, the Association united about two hundred of its members.

After the Law "On Auditing Activity" was issued in December 1992, the Association was transformed into the "Association of Accountants and Auditors of Uzbekistan" and by that time had about 4,000 members. On May 22, 2001, at the reporting and election conference, amendments to the Charter, membership criteria were approved, and the Association became known as the "National Association of Accountants and Auditors of Uzbekistan" (NABA Uz).

NABA Uz has regional branches in the regional centers: Andijan, Bukhara, Gulistan, Karshi, Namangan, Nukus, Samarkand, Urgench, Fergana and Navoi. Work is underway to open a branch in Jizzakh and Termez.

NABA Uz closely cooperates with the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and takes an active part in the development of regulatory legal acts, National Accounting Standards (NSB) and National Auditing Standards (NSAD). Since 1998, NABA Uz has been a full member of the International Public Organization Association of Accountants and Auditors "Commonwealth" (CIS). Since 2000, NABA Uz has been an associate member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

Since 2001, NABA Uz has been a full member of the Eurasian Council of Certified Accountants and Auditors ESSBA.

NABA Uz constantly participates in international programs and projects aimed at introducing the practices of similar organizations in the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Canada and other highly developed countries in Uzbekistan.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

In order to comply with the Regulation on the procedure for issuing an auditor's qualification certificate, approved by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan and registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 13.10.2000 under No. 977, NABA Uz constantly conducts courses:

• Auditor training;
• Auditor qualification improvement;
• Internal auditor training;
• Internal auditor qualification improvement.

In addition to the above courses, NABA Uz conducts:

• Courses for beginner accountants;
• Advanced training courses for accountants;
• DipIFR (Russian-language ACCA);
• Training of tax consultants;
• 1-C accounting;
• Weekly seminars on accounting, auditing, taxation and tax consulting.

As part of the international certification program for accountants and auditors, NABA Uz constantly holds a series of courses and recruits participants to take exams to obtain Certified Accountant Practitioner (CAP), Certified International Professional Accountant (CIPA) and DipIFR (Russian-language ACCA) certificates.

The first level of certification /CAP/ requires passing exams in the courses:

• Financial Accounting 1;
• Management Accounting 1;
• Taxes;
• Legal Regulation.

Note.

To obtain a certificate, you must:

• at least 1 year of professional experience;
• a good reputation as a member of the Association.

The second level of certification /CIPA/ requires passing exams in the courses:

• Financial Accounting 2;
• Management Accounting 2;
• Audit;
• Financial Management;
• Information Technology.

Note.

To obtain a certificate, you must:

• have a CAP certificate (or pass the first level certification exams);
• professional experience of at least 3 years;
• higher education diploma;
• good reputation as a member of the Association.

Note: the following courses: "International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)", "Transformation of Financial Reporting", "Finance and Business Management", "Modern Accounting", Computer Literacy "1C Accounting" require preliminary registration and are opened as soon as enrollment is achieved.

All courses provide teaching aids and additional handouts, and upon completion - certificates of attendance.
