In accordance with the order of the Uzbek Agency for Communications and Informatization dated October 28, 2005 No. 270, new postal codes of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and in particular for the Khorezm region, were put into effect.

The new postal code for the Khorezm region consists of six characters and looks like this:

- the first two digits of the index indicate the conditional code of the regional center;

- the second two digits of the index indicate the conditional code of the district center;

- the third two digits of the index indicate the number of the post office.

For example: index 220110 means

22 – Khorezm region;

01 – city ​​of Urgench;

10 – post office №10 (Urgench-10).
